Dedicated to the memory of Julie

This site is a tribute to my darling wife Julie, who was born in Leeds on 11th May 1957 and sadly left us on 6th May 2020.

She was much loved by all her family and friends who are left heartbroken at their sudden loss.

Julie leaves behind three children, five grandchildren and extended family and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.

The pain we are suffering is eased by the many happy memories that we shared together and the joy she brought to all our lives.

The funeral was held at Stonefall Cemetery, Harrogate on 5th June 2020 and a full copy of the service and Eulogy is available to view in the Journal.

Thoughts

Hi Julie. I think about you often, but especially around this time of year. I miss hearing all your family news and passing on mine. Both our grandchildren are growing up. Thea is 16 now and just in the middle of her GCSE's. Next year she's going to 6th form college to study business and English. Yesterday was David's 80th birthday. We had a good day with the girls and David's cousin and his wife. Stephen sent a lovely message too. Love you and miss you Julie. Liz 😘

My darling Julie, Thinking about you today and always. It’s been four long years since you left us and I will never stop missing you. The past 12 months have been very challenging and I am still in the process of settling the legacy from your Mum’s estate. Laura, Karen and James are busy balancing work and family commitments which as you know is hard, and I’ve found myself having to do a few school runs for Karen recently when she was admitted to hospital due to a bad reaction to her MS treatment. The grandchildren are continuing to do well. Lily and Ava are starting high school this year and are excited to be going to Roundhay School together, and we raised a glass to you when we found out as we knew how much it would have meant to you. Archer and Heath are doing well at school and Heath looks up to Archer so much and can’t wait to see him whenever he can. Ivy is due to start at primary school this year and is growing up so fast and is very creative. Erin and Ned are both at nursery and Karen had to move Erin to Springwood from Ducklings this year due to staffing concerns. Erin is the spitting image of Ava at her age and such a bundle of energy, and Ned is very adventurous and loves playing with all his toys. Lily and Archer are enjoying dancing classes and Ava is continuing with her gymnastics and has won lots of medals this year. I’ve not worked much this year since helping win some work at the Metropole hotel on King Street, and although I‘m enjoying my retirement it would have been so much better with you around. I spent a long weekend in Flamborough last year with Karen and have been thinking of investing in a caravan or holiday home by the coast for all the family to use, but haven’t found anything suitable yet. In February I went to stay with Christine in Zurich for a week, and she has also since stayed with me in Leeds. It was good having her company as she is also on her own like me. Her cancer has returned and she is receiving further treatment which is not good and I hope it will be a success. Rebecca, Lana and Luke are providing support but it isn’t easy for them as they live in London. Eddie from over the road recently passed away and I went to his funeral last week. My cousin Shannon in Canada also recently passed away and was only 62. I feel so sorry for her husband and children who will be suffering right now. All my love Stephen ❤️

My darling Julie, Christmas has come round again so quickly and it seems we have the same old traditions and routines every year, but the difference is people we love are no longer with us. It’s going to be hard without you, but I know you would want us to enjoy ourselves and it will be lovely seeing the grandchildren with smiles on their faces, especially the little ones who are just beginning to understand what Christmas is all about. I’m spending Christmas Day at home this year with Karen, Kieran, Ava, Erin & Luna and James will be joining us for dinner whilst Abbi, Lily, Archer & Ivy go to her Mum & Dad’s and we are all going to their house on Boxing Day and will be joined by Laura, Kevin, Heath & Ned. Thinking about you always and we will raise a glass or two in your memory. All my love, Stephen ❤️
